Hello,
I've ran into an issue where my A1 (The first red RAM slot) if RAM is installed that it causes the MB to power cycle 3 times before POST and the DRAM LED is illuminated during the power cycles. Ive verified the ram is good by taking known good ram thats on the approved list and moving them around. the other red B1/C1 sticks work properly and let it POST. Also having 3x2GB sticks shows 4GB and 3x4GB shows 8GB. It shows the proper amount of ram under CPU-z. Ive reset to defaults under bios and cleared CMOS.
With 2 4GB sticks installed in B1/C1(The other 2 red slots) the MB boots properly, and shows 8GB of ram. Seems to me I have an issue with the first red slot A1. I bought new ram thinking maybe my patriot sticks went bad and to also upgrade it. Im only running either set but not together but the issue remains the same regardless of which set is installed.Now my question looking for suggestions..
I bought this MB 12/29/2010 from newegg. Asus advertises a 3 year limited warranty. Being I have a LGA1366 processor my options for other mb replacements are prety much non existant. What should I do? How will Asus handle this situation being the MB is discontinued now. I cant afford and see no reason to buy a new CPU and MB just to get my full ram potential.
